“ This was my first time here, I'm a veteran and found the atmosphere to be truly unique and inspiring. The place is surrounded by military service member photographs and emails which are printed off and cover the walls.. The menu selection was good, it has a nice selection of American food, burgers and SMITH'S hotdogs, and it also has a nice selection of steaks and seafood at a pretty reasonable price. My draft-beer [Yuengling] was cold and crisp, I ordered the chop steak, medium, which comes with gravy and sauteed onions, and a loaded baked potato which was very good... it was really really delicious.. the only item on the menu that could use some* (a lot of) improvement, the French Onion soup... ”
“ I made reservations 3 days ahead of time so we could drive 1 1/2 hours to enjoy this restaurant that had such great reviews. When we arrived they were packed and woefully understaffed due to unforeseen circumstances. I wasn't sure if we would be able to stay, but they stepped up, got us seated and they were wonderful!!! The food was delicious, the drinks were superb and multiple staff members stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. If you're in the area, this is a great place to dine!!! ”
“ We're rounding up from a 4.5 - we really enjoyed dinner at this local eatery, recommended by the owner at the Lake Breeze Motel. He caught my attention with the Thursday special of chicken and biscuits, so we checked it out. There's a small dining area - maybe 15 tables? - and a bar, so it's a bit snug and every table was filled when I went in to get a menu, thinking we'd do take-out, but there was no wait when we decided to do dine-in. We had to wait a short time for the server to get to us, but she was great - good recommendations for narrowing down our choices and just the right amount of attentive after we ordered. I started with the crab cake appetizer, which came with a zesty sauce. I enjoyed them, although I'm used to flattened crab cakes and these were more ball- shaped. I had the chicken and biscuits, which was very tasty - nice chunks of white meat in gravy, over real mashed potatoes and generous biscuits. The cole slaw was just right - crunchy and a little sweet, not overpowered by mayonnaise. Partner had the shepherd's pie, which, as our server cautioned, was heavily seasoned with thyme, but had great flavor and a nice mix of vegetables under the mashed potatoes. I wish we had had space for dessert! The menu is *really* inclusive, from prime rib to pasta to burgers to vegetarian options and a kid's section. There's something for everyone here! ”
“ First visit, Friday 2/19/21 - really homey feel, attentive, professional, and friendly staff, decorated walls show dedication to veterans and military service, great service, and great food. Lenten Special note: There are a lot of fish fry offerings around, but many are drive thru / pick up only right now (and then it'll be soggy when I get home :( so this was a great option) Prime Rib note: my fiancé loves prime rib (and I'm growing to love it, too). Not a lot of places you can walk into without a reservation on a Friday night to have a quiet, home style feel. Despite this, I do recommend calling ahead and making reservations - we were probably lucky they still had prime rib and seating available. COVID-19 Special note: I appreciated they had an entrance only and exit only door, lots of hand sanitizer around and visible ”
“ Another great night out for dinner at the Pittsburgh Inn - we plan on hitting all of the specials this week - if you appreciate good home cooking I would highly recommend coming here - Tuesday night is city chicken - it was delicious ! Filling portion with a side of fresh steamed broccoli - Wednesday is beef stroganoff - Thursday is chicken and biscuits - Friday and Saturday prime rib - the staff treats you like family ”
